Albany's favorite band, The Backorders, wrapped up their summer tour of block parties on Labor day, playing for the appreciative folks on Curtis street between Portland and Thousand Oaks. Bassist "Mighty" Mark Stone returned from vacation and rejoined the group for the performance.They plan to spend the rest of September and most of October working on their upcoming EP, "Twenty Is The New Five",  which they hope to have ready by the end of the year (the operative word here is "hope").

 

Norman Famous and the Backorders will be performing a series of bitter musical diatribes against former lovers at Ireland's 32 in San Francisco on Thursday, November 2nd. Also on the bill will be Buckeye and Belleville.

The Backorders again rocked the pub at Ireland's 32 in San Francisco on Thursday, November 2nd, this time with new guitarist Greg Reznick, who joined the band last month. Playing to a packed house, they shared the bill with Buckeye, a popular country/rock outfit reformed just for the occasion and old friends Belleville. The Backorders and Belleville will be returning to Ireland's next year on Friday, February 23rd with a third band as yet unnamed.

The Backorders began their Alive in the Dive 2007 tour with a stop at John Patrick’s in Alameda on January 17. Sharing the bill with their new friends, the Privies, they overcame PA problems and proceeded to rock the joint. The ‘Orders and the Privies will return to John Patrick’s for a St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza on Friday, March 17. In the meantime they’ll be sharing a bill with Belleville and Ten Ton Chicken (Eric’s old band) at Ireland’s 32 in San Francisco on Friday, February 23.

The Backorders will be celebrating Saint Paddy’s Day on the next stop of their "Alive in the Dive '07" tour at John Patrick's in Alameda. They'll be sharing the stage with the Privies (www.myspce.com/privies) and special guests Draggin' Suzy (www.myspace.com/dragginsuzy) . The place in gonna be packed, so arrive early! There's no cover and the music starts at 9!

The Backorders rocked Saint Paddy's day at John Patrick's, performing not one, but two stellar sets. The Privies and special guests Draggin' Suzy also rocked the packed house. The 'orders are going to spend the rest of March and most of April recording songs for their new demo, but a live performance is always a possibility. Watch this space!

This just in: The Backorders will be performing at the Brainwash in San Francisco on Saturday, May 12th at 8pm and Saturday June 9th at Oakland's legendary Stork Club! This will be an all ages show, so bring the kids! Check out www.brainwash.com for more details!
